Time Spent Driving Passed & Presence

The emo pioneers, Time Spent Driving, are streaming their new album Passed & Presence at BrooklynVegan. This is group's first record since 2007 and you can reserve your copy before it comes out on 7/21 via the Cardigan Records website or through iTunes

“Having finished recording the album just about a year ago, we're super excited to finally get it out into the wild," says frontman *Joe Cattivera. "To us, every song on the album has a unique identity that stands on its own, and we feel like we've also breached plenty of new territory, while staying true to who we are. With our three original core members back in the fold, it was easy to pick up where we left off. The surface has really just barely been scratched--there's plenty more where that came from."

Santa Cruz, CA based EMO Pioneers, TIME SPENT DRIVING, have released their first album since 2007. Yes, the term "Emo" is not what it used to be but give this album a chance. "Passed & Presence does not represent the new tight jean/punk/emo generation. This is a lyrically and instrumentally strong album that continues where the bands 2002 "Just Enough Bright" album left off.
Time Spent Driving's acoustic/electric guitar and drums are a perfect mix with singer Joe Cattivera's deep lyrics and his raspy voice.
This is definitely a good "chill" album. For me this album turned a horrible day into a relaxed and peaceful evening. After adding Time Spent Driving in my rotation with Leonard Cohen, Type O Negative and The Cure, I look forward to listening again to the new album "Passed and Presence" with a nice 18 year old Single Malt Scotch.
Standout Tracks:
-Weight Of The World
-Skins And Knees
-I'm Not Done With You
