Astoria Stigmata Review

Artist: Astorian Stigmata
Album: Bones and Memories
Label: Standby Records
Genre: Punk, Gothic Rock
Astorian Stigmata started in 2009 as a solo project by frontman Dennis Condusta in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. After years of touring and line up changes the band finalized in 2013 with DJ Laury (guitar), Kyle Drevenik (Bass), and Matt Gobbler (Drums). The band is heavily driven to stay on a personal level with their fans by offering handmade merchandise, hosting several weekly series' on their Youtube channel, http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnWGkrgsrLpBxg59YsJt68Q and regularly giving away their own personal items to fans. I can not say this enough, subscribe to their Youtube channel because their video's are absolutely incredible.
The 13 track LP opens with the self titled LP, Bones and Memories. A perfect choice to open this amazing LP. They took me on a journey I wasn't expecting. I love surprises like that. There is nothing better than to discover new music and get caught up in the magic. The vocals by Dennis Condusta are eerie, soulful, unique, a complete, anything goes vocalist. Musically, just, damn. I don't even know what I was listening to. I just know, I liked it. No, I loved it! It's punk, no doubt, but you get some Gothic Rock coming through with Melodic undertones. I'm baffled about it. It's original. Maybe I should just say that, it IS original.
I know we all have one reason or another why we like/don't like music. We all have an opinion and I'm open to that. I will throw this out there, you can and will find at least one track on this LP that you connect with. Whether it be lyrically or musically, maybe even both. I found myself buried in the track, Midnight Forever. I connected with it lyrically and musically. Such an emotional song. I couldn't get past it for well over an hour. Yes, repeat it please, again and again. There are many stand out tracks, however, Subconscious Voodoo, The Alchemist, After The Broken Glass, Chemical Burns, Ghosts Of Summer, just to name a few.
